MAISON & OBJET 2018

Cabinet of Curiosities

WonderGlass presents a conceptual installation fusing ethereal visual art with exquisite lighting objects at Maison and Objet 2018.

Cabinet of Curiosities is an installation full of whimsy and surprise to showcase some of the finest works by design luminaries Claesson Koivisto Rune, Nao Tamura, Marcel Wanders, Dan Yeffet, and Hideki Yoshimoto. The installation, divided into quadrants, showcases the objects framed against large backlit photographs created in the Italian Dolomites.

Under the creative direction of WonderGlass, the images, a contrast between nature and human creation, feature brilliant smoke clouds of hot pink and azure blue, or the idiosyncratic addition of colourful balls to dramatically evoke the union of dream and reality in exquisite creations.

From Dan Yeffet’s experimental floor sculpture Hollow to Claesson Koivisto Rune’s elegant chandelier Grappa, the objects on display have been carefully selected from WonderGlass’s catalogue of work over the last five years, with the addition of Hollow presented for the first time in blue.
