THROUGH THE CLOUDS

by FORNASETTI

Designed by the iconic Italian decorative firm, Atelier Fornasetti, Through The Clouds takes inspiration from daydreaming. Delicate glass clouds float above the viewer, suggesting divine perspective. Obelisks protrude from the clouds, nodding to the ancient Egyptians who worshipped the obelisk as a symbol of Ra, the sun god and creator of life on earth. Produced by hand, the design blends printed and lacquered metal with blown glass. This whimsical approach and fine material resolution reawakens the love of glass that has been embedded within Fornasetti’s DNA since the mid-century – demonstrating Fornasetti and WonderGlass’s shared artisanal approach and dedication to craftsmanship.

FORNASETTI

Founded in the Fifties in Milan, Fornasetti is a company internationally recognised for the design and decoration of finely crafted pieces of furniture. Artistic director Barnaba Fornasetti created the 'reinventions', new objects designed from scratch by himself, using themes taken from the historical archive with the same passion his father, Piero Fornasetti, had. Fornasetti has for a long time nurtured the dream of transcending the boundaries of design and applying decoration to other disciplines and worlds.
