ÉOS
by ATELIER OЇ
Éos, a work inspired by encroaching lava, takes its form from the transitionary moment when molten magma becomes igneous stone – liquid to solid – once lava reaches the planet’s surface. Inspired by the Gaia hypothesis which proposes that all organisms interact with their inorganic surroundings and thereby co-create a synergistic, self-regulating system to provide the bedrock for life, glass pieces are shaped by gravity to create the illusion of liquid on the brink of overflowing – spilling into being.
